Coastal Parliamentary Group joins forces with elected leaders to prioritise grassroots youth talent development

Stressing their dedication to fully harnessing talents for the benefit of youth, Mwashako pledged both financial and material assistance to empower local youngsters.
The Coastal Parliamentary Group (CPG) has joined forces with elected leaders in the region to prioritise developing grassroots youth talent for transformative change.
Danson Mwashako, Chairman of CPG and also the Wundanyi MP, underscored the region's vast untapped talent, focusing on uplifting the socio-economic status of a population largely below the poverty line. Irrespective of political affiliations, elected leaders are united in their commitment to empower youth through well-structured sports initiatives economically.
Speaking at Wundanyi Dawson Mwanyumba Stadium, Mwashako announced a collective effort among leaders to nurture grassroots talents initially, with plans to expand programs to county and regional levels. The primary goal is to promote talent development, ensuring local youth can earn through various sports disciplines.
In acknowledgement of the Junior Football Club's promotion to the Division Two league following their outstanding performance in the Coast FKF league, Mwashako generously donated Sh100,000 to support their commendable soccer achievements.
Stressing their dedication to fully harnessing talents for the benefit of youth, Mwashako pledged financial and material assistance to empower local youngsters. He also committed to sponsoring youth tournaments, intending to elevate soccer standards suffered due to neglect.
Mwashako's intentions extend beyond the Wundanyi constituency, as he plans to organise tournaments in other counties, striving to bring together youth and diverse communities in the Coast region through sports activities.
Crucially, Mwashako clarified that these sports programs are not politically motivated. He stressed their purpose is to provide meaningful economic engagement for the youth, offering opportunities for employment and steering them away from drug and alcohol abuse.
